The big event of the week has been Republic Day - one of the 3 national holidays. The Republic Day of India commemorates the date on which theConstitution of Indiacame into force.The main event is a parade along the Rajpath - a road that runs from the Presidential Palace to India Gate. Security was understandably tight given what was on show. I'd best describe the parade as a cross between the Lord Mayor's Procession in London and an old Soviet Style military parade with men and missiles.My highlight was the Mounted Camel Brigade - pictured!It was a great day to explore New Delhi as all the roads were shut and we could wander in the early Spring sunshine free from noise and hassle.
